What is Bali Fair Trade?

The key objectives of Fair Trade are toempower low-income balinese artisans and farmers to better their conditions, and to promote understanding between them and people of developed regions through transparency and mutual respect. Fair Trade's rules guarantee a living wage in the local context, offering employees opportunities for advancement, providing equal opportunities for all people, particularly the most disadvantaged, engaging in environmentally sustainable practices, being open to public accountability, building long-term trade relationships, providing healthy and safe working conditions within the local context, providing financial and technical assistance to producers whenever possible. Murni's Warung Shop – Campuan, Ubud - Bali

Murni's Warung Shop – Campuan, Ubud

Murni was the first person to have a proper gallery of antiques, textiles, tribal arts, beads, jewelry, carvings, masks and other ethnic pieces in Ubud. The shop is in her famous restaurant, Murni's Warung, which is decorated with items from her personal collection.

Her sources are the best. Murni also travels extensively collecting unique treasures from as far afield as Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Cambodia, Thailand, Burma, China and Laos. Many of her pieces are museum quality, which she has exhibited abroad, but she also has reproductions to suit every budget.

You can also buy from the on line shop. Murni sells both retail and wholesale and ships anywhere in the world.

Tegun Galeri – Folkart for Wholesale & Export – 44 Jln Hanoman, Ubud - Bali

Tegun Galeri – Folkart for Wholesale & Export – 44 Jln Hanoman, Ubud

A one of a kind experience in the center of Ubud, Tegun Galeri brings together the concepts of a museum and a shop. The intriguing, ever-changing collection includes everything from primitive carvings to highly refined woodwork, textiles and other crafts.

Tegun Galeri is a certain cure to Bali Fatigue. Tegun, one of Ubud's largest and most varied shops, prides itself on offering to both wholesales and retail customers a starling array of unique Indonesian handicrafts and folk art. The Galeri, on Jalan Hanoman, is notable for its large doors and broads windows, both of each draw Ubud's many strollers into a shop. Once, inside, the knowledgeable staff are close at hand, available to field questions and handle specials requests while, at the same time, letting each shoppers explore the store at this or her own pace. This relaxing, "laid back" environment is a big asset to shoppers, and contrasts with the more hectic atmosphere in other stores on the island.

Meghan Pappenheim and Kadek Gunarta, the owners of Tegun Galeri, travel constantly to distant corners of Indonesia and across South East and East Asia, in search of unusual and beautiful pieces of folk art. Meghan also runs The Yoga Barn© and Kadek create incredible one of a kind teak wood furniture for sale through Dek's Studio. All items at Tegun and Dek's Studio can be purchased retail or for wholesale export from Bali.
