Ubud Food Festival, Ubud Food Festival. This is an event that warrants a mandatory visit by locals and justifiable attendance by non-locals. It is hard to believe that this year will be the first to see an event of this kind and scale in Bali. If Festival founder, Janet DeNeefe's Ubud Writers & Readers Festival (UWRF) is anything to go by, then we are all definitely in for a treat.

Bali Art Festival, The Bali Arts Festival is a cultural treat for lucky visitors who are in Bali until mid July. The festival traditionally starts on the second Saturday of June and runs through the month of July. It is the perfect moment to witness Bali's wealth of performing arts together with various cultural highlights from other islands in Indonesia. As one of the main highlights in Bali's calendar of events, the annual celebration features various artworks and cultural achievements, inviting locals and international visitors to the Taman Werdhi Budaya Arts Centre in Denpasar where most of the daily exhibitions and art performances are focused.

Bali Kites Festival, The Bali Kites Festival is a series of kiting events that take place annually between July and August, notably at the start of the windy season. The kite festivals are one of Bali's major provincial calendar highlights presenting unique cultural scenes on par with the preceding the Bali Arts Festival. The festival is slated for various dates, with main events customarily taking place along the eastern coast of Padanggalak, just north of Sanur

Sanur Village Festival, Carrying on "The New Spirit of Heritage" and "Dasa Warsa" (Ten Years) as this year's theme, the Sanur Village Festival highlights a bazaar and food festival, fashion shows, expos, tours, culinary challenges, Yoga, sports activities and environmental awareness programs, and it will also highlight an international kite festival, an exotic jukung festival and a Sanur Run.

Penampahan Galungan,Galungan eve sees all Balinese households busy preparing for the following day, by decorating curved bamboo poles with elements of harvests and natural items, such as rice, fruit, coconuts, and leaves. These penjor poles symbolize the blessing by Mother Nature. When complete, these ornamental bamboo poles provide a unique sight, lining every road throughout Bali. The day also features spit-roasted pigs in Banjar communal halls, and traditional food prepared for the whole village to share.

Hari Raya Galungan, This is the most important holiday symbolizing the victory of Virtue (Dharma) upon Evil (Adharma). The holiday is specialized by the fitting of 'penjor', a tall bamboo pole splendidly decorated with woven young coconut leaves, fruit, cakes and flowers, on the right side of every house entrance. People are attired in their finest clothes and jewels this day.

Penampahan Kuningan,Penampahan Kuningan is the day before the actual celebration of Kuningan, which is the day that marks the end of the festive season on the island, by the departure of the ancestors, back to their own world. Just like Galungan, Kuningan never misses the part of the local culinary tradition involving lots of pork, hence this particular "penampahan' day, which literally translates into "slaughter". " While the men will be busy slaughtering the pigs, the women will have their hands busy preparing the colorful offerings of all sorts, both the ones involving the various colorful food, fruits and flowers
