Penampahan Galungan,Galungan eve sees all Balinese households busy preparing for the following day, by decorating curved bamboo poles with elements of harvests and natural items, such as rice, fruit, coconuts, and leaves. These penjor poles symbolize the blessing by Mother Nature. When complete, these ornamental bamboo poles provide a unique sight, lining every road throughout Bali. The day also features spit-roasted pigs in Banjar communal halls, and traditional food prepared for the whole village to share.

Hari Raya Galungan, This is the most important holiday symbolizing the victory of Virtue (Dharma) upon Evil (Adharma). The holiday is specialized by the fitting of 'penjor', a tall bamboo pole splendidly decorated with woven young coconut leaves, fruit, cakes and flowers, on the right side of every house entrance. People are attired in their finest clothes and jewels this day.

Penampahan Kuningan,Penampahan Kuningan is the day before the actual celebration of Kuningan, which is the day that marks the end of the festive season on the island, by the departure of the ancestors, back to their own world. Just like Galungan, Kuningan never misses the part of the local culinary tradition involving lots of pork, hence this particular "penampahan' day, which literally translates into "slaughter". " While the men will be busy slaughtering the pigs, the women will have their hands busy preparing the colorful offerings of all sorts, both the ones involving the various colorful food, fruits and flowers
