BREATH AS OUR MOST INTIMATE COMPANION
By Ateeka – Founder of Systemic Yoga
In the tantric practice of Systemic Yoga, breath is the vital element that initiates our movements and carries us through the flow of our meditations. Breath is the transparent medium through which we meet ourselves. Breathing is an “action” that transmutes itself into an “existence”, a fluxing and flowing existence. As we open more and more to our authentic breath, an ongoing dance of polarities and their union exchange within us. The liberated breath is Tantra.
An authentic organic yoga practice grants us the opportunity to reconnect with the potentiality of our original pulsing breath. Through cultural influences and life experiences, we may have adopted fixed patterns of respiration that can limit a deep and intimate connection with the life force that rides on the breath. Healthy respiration bathes our entire system not only with oxygen, but also vital life source energy often referred to as prana, ki, chi or mana. It is a free flowing, limitless energy. The natural potency of the breath is enhanced by the adaptability and responsiveness of the tissue of the rib cage, diaphragm, spine and pelvis. The breath itself is a sacred and flowing source of life that needs no manipulation or practice to unlock its vital presence. Prana is ever-present and inexhaustable. We can, however, find ways to liberate limitations in our body’s tissues and allow the breath to enter us more fully and freely. (read more)

Introducing Archetypes of the Soul |
 |
• Sunday, February 8 at 3 PM
At last, in Bali….
Several years ago a study group from Linda Madani’s yoga class was formed for Archetypes of the Soul. The book’s median, Varda Hasselmann and Frank Schmolke will soon be in Ubud. Though on holiday they have agreed to introduce their thoughts at an afternoon gathering at my home,
All are invited at no cost.
Christina Welty: send SMS for directions 0812 399 3239.
Dr. Varda Hasselmann, born in 1946, studied literature and mediaeval history and culture. She later followed her avocation by using her medial abilities for her present profession: since 1983, she has been active as a trance medium and has been giving seminars and lectures. She has presented the teachings of the soul, received through her mediality, in 5 books with Frank Schmolke beginning with Archetypen der Seele 2002, later self-published in English, Archetypes of the Soul. |
3rd Annual Asia Pacific Spa Wellness Coalition in Bangkok, Thailand |

• February 20 – 21
General managers and executives in the spa and hospitality industries to shape and improve the industry at the 3rd Annual APSWC Strategic Planning Forum in Bangkok, Thailand
Following the success of the first two Strategic Planning Forums in Bali, March 2007 and Kuala Lumpur 2008, the intention of the theme “Re-align, Re-cap and Re-energise” is to evaluate what we have accomplished and re-assess our priorities for the future.
The 2009 Forum aims to continue along the path towards industry improvement by reviewing the work done to date by the five task forces; identifying further development required, and how to implement the outcomes in our respective countries and companies. Lastly, the APSWC will highlight the regional country reports of the various spa and wellness associations, a popular feature of the previous forums.
