This spacious two storey house in Banjar Kutuh Kelod is situated about 700 metres north of the main Ubud road and is set in landscaped gardens sloping down to a narrow river gorge lined with bamboo, palms and trees. The terraced gardens include fruit trees, coconut palms, and Hindu shrines. Entrance to the house yard from the front parking area is through a traditional Balinese gate.

The house can accommodate a maximum of 5 people. It has a king sized bed in the upstairs bedroom which is air conditioned. This room includes a work desk and has a small terrace overlooking the garden. On the upstairs terrace there is a sitting area with a sofa for relaxing. Downstairs, the queen sized bedroom is air conditioned and there is a single bedroom with a fan. There are bathrooms (shower and bathtub) and toilets on the upper and ground floors. The downstairs shower area is open to the sky.

Downstairs there is a spacious dining and sitting area opening onto a terrace which is ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine while listening to music in the balmy evening. The kitchen, which overlooks the garden, has a gas stove and oven and refrigerator and in the adjoining laundry there is a washing machine. For entertainment, there is satellite television (HBO, Star Movies, BBC, CNN, Australian Television, cartoons etc), a stereo CD player, DVD player and a selection of DVDs.

The house is conveniently located for walking to restaurants, commercial laundry, a supermarket and internet cafes. It is about 15 - 20 minutes walk to central Ubud's traditional market. There are 2 bicycles at the house for cycling through the rice fields in the cool of the morning or for exploring the town. Nearby are temples with traditional dance performances in the evening, museum, and handicraft shops. A community school is located next to the house.

The house comes with:

• a part time house assistant/caretaker who provides a basic housekeeping service
• wifi connection
• membership for 2 people at neighbouring Ubud Fitness Centre's very good gym, squash, aerobics and juice bar facilities
• a prepaid phone for your use (you need to add credit as you go!)
• weekly laundering of one set of sheets and towels/person
• two brindle coloured local dogs who live in the gardens and were rescued from the street by the caretaker (they are vaccinated against rabies)
• a massage table for relaxing massages (you need to organize the masseur to come to the house)
• fresh kelapa muda (young coconut juice) from the coconut palms in the garden when in season (ask the caretaker if it is available)
• ample off street parking for a rented vehicle.
